Savannah, TX is a Census-Designated Place ** located 12 miles directly east of Denton,TX on Texas Highway 380.  Savannah is a large residential Community with 2,400 homes (upon completion).  At the time of this article, Savannah was still selling new-construction homes.  Savannah’s mailing-address is Aubrey, TX.  Aubrey is 9 miles northwest of the Savannah Residential Community.  The size of the Savannah community is .9 square miles.   Its population in 2010 was 3,318 residents.

Savannah is not located within a city. The Savannah District is a political subdivision of the State of Texas that functions similar to a city. The governing body is composed of five directors, elected by the voters in the District. The undeveloped future phases of Savannah are also located within the District. District also includes properties in addition to Savannah. The Denton County Fresh Water Supply District No. 10 constructs and maintains water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, roads, and trash removal.  Within the community is Savannah Elementary School, at 1101 Cotton Exchange Drive.  This school is part of the Denton, TX Independent School District (DISD).
